Visual Foreign Correspondents

Visual Foreign Correspondents was a series of audio-visual artworks for a number of screen-based platforms. It was linked to the Globalised Crystal Ball, a yearlong series of monthly debates on the changing nature globalisation hosted in de Balie, Amsterdam. In this project every month a foreign artist was commissioned to make an original work using the theme of that month’s discussion as a starting point. The artists’ chosen, reflected the globelised perspective of the project, as they lived and worked in different regions of the world.

.
It was presented on screens inside and outside De Balie and other screens around Amsterdam, in OOG and on its own dedicated website, where the works were contextualised with background information and in depth interviews. It was also presented during the debate inside the debating theatre to the live audience, creating another exciting platform for visual reflection. Lateron the works presented in Visual Foreign Correspondents were also shown as part of the Melbourne Urban Screen Festival 2008 and Radiator Festival in Nottingham 2009.
